Recipe: Hot Buttered Rum

Ingredients:

1 oz. spiced rum (Saylor Jerry or Capt. Morgan)
1 oz. light rum (Don Q or Bacardi)
3/4 oz. simple syrup or honey syrup
hot water or hot cider
1/2 tablespoon Holiday Butter
Garnish: Cinnamon stick

Preparation:

In a goblet glass, combine the dark and light rums with the syrup. Add the hot water and stir a couple of times to start to melt it. To make the holiday butter: soften one pound unsalted butter in a mixing bowl; add one teaspoon ground cinnamon, one teaspoon nutmeg and one teaspoon allspice, plus a half-teaspooon of ground cloves and a quarter-cup of brown sugar. Mix well and place in the refrigerator to set.
